To reunite with my old friends, to share the absurd, to inform and to entertain, I begin this blog with this. My friends (not like the nervous-habit, John McCain "my friends" but honest-to-God "my friends"): Ignore me when I rant. Forgive me when I offend. Hoist me upon your shoulders, fan me with palm leaves and carry me through a parade in my honor when I am the least bit clever.

Maybe next time...

I just finished Al Franken's The Truth (With Jokes) on CD, and now I am hopping, hopping mad that I voted the way I did in 2004.

The only trouble is, I can't think of a book to counter it. Where are the well-researched, well-reasoned conservative authors? Did Buckley take them all with him?

I have a spare copy of Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. The "Supply-Side Jesus" comic is priceless. There are lots of facts and lots of jokes. You may have it. Clever, factual, and pertinent Republican satire will return when Dems get a chance to mess things up. In other words, when it will be needed. Hopefully, for all of us, the hacks will forever have to linger on the Lewinski incident, because Obama will rule like Solomon. Yeah right. We'll have it coming one of these days, if we can ever win a @#$% election.

Hi hi hi! So glad to see you in these hallowed pixels! I have to say, though, for a moment your favorite books list gave me the serious fear.

I feel like family again. Do you think it's plausible one of those fine authors might use one of my titles? I'd be flattered. I've lightened up some.

I still get very envious of you when I read your entries about your local outings.
